History

Yuksek is the stage name of Pierre-Alexandre Busson, a French electronic music producer, DJ, and singer born in Reims in 1977. Trained on piano at the local conservatoire until age 17, he began releasing tracks under the Yuksek name in 2002, building a reputation as a touring DJ while his early EPs and remixes appeared on labels like Kitsune and Relish. His 2009 debut album, "Away from the Sea," produced the singles "Tonight" and "Extraball" and drew wide French media attention: "Tonight" became the theme for the Canal+ talk show Le Grand Journal and later soundtracked a 2010 Peugeot TV campaign, while "Extraball" ran in ads for Airness and Lacoste. His sound blends French house, electropop, and nu-disco. A second album, "Living on the Edge of Time," followed in 2011, after which he played festivals including Rhythm and Vines in New Zealand and Field Day in Sydney. In 2013 he launched his own label, Partyfine. Yuksek is also known for side projects with fellow producers: The Krays with Brodinski, and Peter & The Magician with Stephane Fasano (ex-Aeroplane).
