History
Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe (born February 6, 1993, in Lexington, Kentucky) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress based in the Los Angeles area. Before music she worked as a child actor, including a motion-capture role in The Polar Express and a recurring part on Two and a Half Men. From 2007 to 2011 she was a member of the girl group the Stunners, who opened for Justin Bieber's My World Tour before disbanding. Tinashe then taught herself production and filmmaking, self-releasing mixtapes such as In Case We Die and Black Water. Her 2014 major-label single "2 On" (featuring ScHoolboy Q) broke her into the mainstream and led her debut album, Aquarius. After Nightride (2016) and Joyride (2018), she left RCA and became independent, releasing Songs for You, 333, BB/Ang3l, and Quantum Baby. A decade into her career, Quantum Baby's single "Nasty" went viral and became her first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100, and its remix "No Broke Boys" (with Disco Lines) topped international dance charts. Her sound blends R&B, pop, and dance music.
