The Cure
1980s chorused melancholy pop-goth from the 1980s: chorused six-string bass, flanged high guitar, string-synth pad wash, melancholic and dreamy in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
The Cure held two opposite moods at once: slow, bleak records built on bass-led dread, and bright singles with a chorus that sticks after one listen. Robert Smith sings thin and close to breaking, and under him the guitars are layered and soaked in chorus and flanger while the bass usually carries the tune rather than the root note. The first songs were short and dry, Boys Don't Cry among them, and the albums that followed grew longer and heavier until Disintegration pushed the formula as far as it would go, with washes of keyboard under lyrics about loss. Alongside that came Just Like Heaven, Lovesong and Friday I'm in Love, which put the band on daytime radio worldwide without changing what it actually sounded like. The smeared lipstick and backcombed hair followed the music into a subculture that outlived the era. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, four decades after the first single, with most of the lineup still in place.
