The Chemical Brothers
Big beat from the 1990s: fuzzy breakbeats, acid bass, psychedelic synth stabs, aggressive and hypnotic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
Style: Big beat
History
The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, who met at the University of Manchester in 1989 and began DJing together in 1992. Originally calling themselves the Dust Brothers, they renamed after a legal dispute with the American production duo of the same name and took the new name from their own track "Chemical Beats." Pioneers of big beat, they blend breakbeats, techno, and house into dense, sample-heavy productions. Their 1995 debut, Exit Planet Dust, sold over a million copies, and Dig Your Own Hole (1997), Surrender (1999), Come with Us (2003), Push the Button (2005), and We Are the Night (2007) all topped the UK Albums Chart. They have had 13 UK top-20 singles, including two number ones, "Setting Sun" and "Block Rockin' Beats," and have won six Grammy Awards. Guest vocalists over the years have included Noel Gallagher, Beth Orton, Bernard Sumner, Q-Tip, Beck, and St. Vincent.
