History
Tate McRae (born Tate Rosner McRae, July 1, 2003, in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and dancer working in pop, alt-pop, and dance-pop. She started as a competitive dancer, won Mini Best Female Dancer at the 2013 Dance Awards, and gained wider attention as a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance in 2016 before signing with RCA Records in 2019. Her EP Too Young to Be Sad (2021) became the most-streamed female EP of that year on Spotify. She released her debut album I Used to Think I Could Fly (2022), followed by Think Later (2023), which produced the Billboard Global 200 number-one single "Greedy." Her 2025 album So Close to What topped the US Billboard 200 and spawned international top-ten hits including "Sports Car" and "Revolving Door." That year she also earned her first US number-one as a featured artist on Morgan Wallen's "What I Want" and received her first Grammy nomination for "Just Keep Watching," from the F1 the Album soundtrack.
