S.O.D.
Mosh part crossover thrash from the 1980s: chunky palm mutes, snare rim cracks, pick attack bass, aggressive and playful in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
A side project that took about as long to record as it takes to hear. In 1985 Scott Ian and Charlie Benante of Anthrax, with Dan Lilker on bass and Billy Milano at the microphone, put together Stormtroopers of Death and cut Speak English or Die in a matter of days. The songs are hardcore-short, several of them under a minute, and they drop out of full speed into slow, heavy sections that later bands turned into a standard device. Punk tempo, metal guitar tone and half-speed breakdown in one record: it is one of the two usually credited with starting crossover thrash. The lyrics were written to provoke and have been argued over ever since, including by people who were in the room. The band worked in bursts rather than as a going concern: live albums, then Bigger Than the Devil in 1999, then long silences. Lilker went on to Nuclear Assault, Milano to M.O.D.
