RÜFÜS DU SOL late
Progressive house from the 2010s: rolling arpeggiated synths, sidechained bass, four-on-the-floor kick, hypnotic and euphoric in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
Style: Progressive house
History
RÜFÜS DU SOL is an Australian dance-rock trio, Tyrone Lindqvist (vocals, guitar), Jon George (keys, synths) and James Hunt (drums), formed in Sydney in November 2010 after the three childhood friends turned a rain-soaked trip to Byron Bay into a jam session. They released the debut EP RÜFÜS in January 2011 and their first album, Atlas, in 2013. Originally performing simply as Rüfüs, they added "Du Sol" for US releases in 2014 to avoid a trademark clash with the funk band Rufus (of Chaka Khan fame), then adopted the fuller name worldwide in 2018. Blending melodic house and indie-tinged electronic songwriting, they broke through with 2016's Bloom ("Innerbloom"), topped charts with 2018's Solace and 2021's Surrender, and won the 2022 Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording with "Alive." Now based partly in Los Angeles, they are known for playing as a genuine live band rather than DJs, and for headline sets at festivals including Lollapalooza and Osheaga.
