History

Purple Disco Machine is the project of Dresden producer Tino Piontek, and his music is built on the bright machinery of classic disco: slap and octave basslines, funky rhythm guitar, strings, filtered loops and four-on-the-floor house drums. He spent years releasing club tracks and edits for DJs before the debut album Soulmatic in 2017 gathered that sound into a full record. The wider breakthrough came with Hypnotized, a 2020 single with Sophie and the Giants that became a big European radio hit, and the album Exotica in 2021 followed with Fireworks, Dopamine and more guest-led songs. Around the same time his official remixes for Dua Lipa's Don't Start Now, Kylie Minogue's Magic and Lady Gaga's Rain on Me made him a go-to name for pop disco reworks, and his remix of Lizzo's About Damn Time won the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording in 2023. Paradise followed in 2024, the same year as Honey Boy, a single with Nile Rodgers among its guests. The signature is polished, warm and very danceable: groove first, melody close behind.
