History
Polo G, born Taurus Tremani Bartlett on January 6, 1999, grew up in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. He began recording in 2017, uploading early tracks to SoundCloud and YouTube, and broke through in 2018-2019 with the singles "Finer Things" and "Pop Out" (featuring Lil Tjay). His sound blends Midwestern hip-hop and Chicago drill with trap production and melodic, conscious songwriting that draws on his upbringing. His 2019 debut album, Die a Legend, reached number six on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum. The follow-up, The Goat (2020), climbed to number two and placed ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100. His third album, Hall of Fame (2021), became his first number-one album on the Billboard 200 and produced his first chart-topping single, "Rapstar" - notably, all three of his studio albums have been certified double platinum by the RIAA, a rare consecutive streak for an artist still in his twenties.
