History

Paleface Swiss mix beatdown hardcore, deathcore and nu metal into one of the most violent sounds in modern heavy music. The band formed in Zurich in 2017, an unusual starting point for a style usually tied to American hardcore, and they have always resisted being filed under a single genre. Chapter 3: The Last Selection in 2020 introduced the formula of crawling breakdowns, sudden bursts of speed and vocals that switch between low gutturals, piercing screams and rapped, nu metal cadences. Fear & Dagger in 2022 widened the palette, and critics compared the chaotic energy to early Slipknot. Their live shows quickly became part of their reputation, and they went on to appear at festivals such as Resurrection Fest and Sick New World. Their international profile rose sharply in 2024, and Cursed followed in 2025. Marc "Zelli" Zellweger fronts the band. A listener recognises Paleface Swiss by dissonant, bouncing riffs, abrupt tempo drops and the unpredictable shifts of the vocal.
