Noah Kahan
2020s small-town indie folk-rock from the 2020s: clawhammer banjo roll, mandolin tremolo fills, dreadnought acoustic chug, melancholic and nostalgic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Noah Kahan writes folk-pop about staying in a place that is slowly emptying out. He is from rural Vermont, and the geography is not decoration: the songs name winters, family houses, people who left and people who did not, and the emotional register is closer to resentment and guilt than to nostalgia. Musically the frame is simple, acoustic guitar and banjo with a full band arriving on the chorus, and the choruses are written to be shouted rather than sung, which is why they work in a room of several thousand people. Stick Season is the song that did it, a single strummed figure and a vocal that gets louder without getting prettier. Northern Attitude sets the same terms more quietly, an apology for being hard to reach. Dial Drunk is the funniest and bleakest of the three, a drunk-dialling story told without any redemption at the end. He writes plainly about mental health in a genre that often prefers metaphor, and that directness is much of the appeal.
