History
Michael Bublé is a Canadian singer and songwriter born September 9, 1975, in Burnaby, British Columbia. Introduced to jazz and swing through his grandfather's record collection (Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett), he began performing as a teenager, winning the BC Youth Talent Search in 1993 and later touring in stage revues like Forever Swing. His career took off after producer David Foster heard him sing at a private event in 2000 and signed him to 143 Records. His self-titled 2003 debut established him, but it was It's Time (2005), featuring the hit "Home," that made him an international star, staying on Billboard's Traditional Jazz Albums chart for two years. Call Me Irresponsible (2007) won him his first Grammy. Known for reworking swing-era standards with a modern pop sensibility, he has sold well over 15 million albums and remains one of the few artists to bring big-band crooning back to mainstream charts.
