History
Mack 10 (born Dedrick D'Mon Rolison, August 9, 1971, in Inglewood, California) is an American rapper, songwriter, and label executive who became a key voice of 1990s West Coast gangsta rap. His stage name nods to the Ingram MAC-10 submachine gun. He signed to Priority Records and released his self-titled debut album in 1995, scoring a hit with "Foe Life," co-written with Ice Cube. In 1996 he co-founded the hip-hop supergroup Westside Connection alongside Ice Cube and WC; their debut, Bow Down, reached number two on the Billboard 200 and went platinum. His 1997 solo album Based on a True Story cracked the top five of the Billboard Hip Hop chart, and he later launched his own label, Hoo Bangin' Records. Westside Connection reunited for the gold-certified Terrorist Threats (2003). Across his solo and group work, Mack 10 has sold close to 11 million records. He was married to TLC's T-Boz from 2000 to 2004.
