History

LSP began in Minsk as a duo: Oleg Savchenko and Roman Sashcheko, who performed as Romul. Magiya (2016) and Telo fixed a sound that stands apart from the rest of the scene, with cold analogue arpeggios, synth-pop chord movement and a high strained vocal that cracks deliberately at the top of a phrase. The writing leans on blunt, uncomfortable imagery, and the arrangements owe as much to 1980s synth-pop as to hip-hop, which is why the project sits next to melodic rap rather than inside it. After Sashcheko's death the project continued under Savchenko alone. The construction stayed the same: programmed drums, thin bright synth lines, and a vocal mixed dry and forward so the strain in it remains audible.
