History
Lost Society started out as one of the youngest bands in the thrash revival, playing fast, clean-picked riffs with the energy of a group still in its teens. They formed in Jyväskylä, Finland, in 2010 around guitarist and vocalist Samy Elbanna. In 2012 they won the Finnish round of the Global Battle of the Bands contest, played the final in London, and Nuclear Blast released their debut Fast Loud Death in 2013. The record owed a lot to the Bay Area sound: shouted choruses, sharp palm-muted riffs, solos traded between two guitars. Terror Hungry followed in 2014 and Braindead in 2016, each a little heavier and more confident than the last. By then they had toured with Children of Bodom and Exodus. Later records moved away from pure retro thrash toward a heavier, more modern metal sound. The early albums stand out for the speed, the youth in Elbanna's voice and the sheer density of riffs.
