History

Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui was born in Sweden in 1983 to Moroccan parents. Television audiences first saw her on Idol in 2004, though recognition came later and through Melodifestivalen. A single, "My Heart Is Refusing Me", appeared in 2011. In 2012 she won the Swedish selection and then the Eurovision Song Contest with "Euphoria". The staging carried part of the result: one performer on an almost bare stage, working with light, falling snow and choreography instead of scenery. Heal followed the same year. She returned to the contest in 2023 with "Tattoo" and won again, the only woman with two victories. Her singing runs on contrast, a low and slightly hoarse tone set against a long house-pop build in which the chorus is withheld through the verse and released late.
