History
Little Boots is the stage name of English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Victoria Hesketh, born 1984 in Blackpool, Lancashire. She started out fronting the dance-punk trio Dead Disco while at Leeds University before going solo around 2008, taking her nickname from a friend's joke about her small feet. Her breakthrough came with the club single "Stuck on Repeat," produced by Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, followed by a run of self-recorded home videos posted online that built strong early buzz. That momentum carried her to the top of the BBC's Sound of 2009 poll and a Critics' Choice nomination at the BRIT Awards, both before her debut album had even been released — an unusually early crowning for an unsigned artist. Her debut, Hands (2009), reached number five on the UK charts on the strength of singles "New in Town" and "Remedy." She has since released Nocturnes (2013), Working Girl (2015) and Tomorrow's Yesterdays (2022), moving through synth-pop, house and disco influences while running her own label, On Repeat.
