History
Lil Mosey (born Lathan Moses Stanley Echols, January 25, 2002, in Mountlake Terrace, Washington) is a rapper who grew up in north Seattle. Inspired by Meek Mill's "Dreams and Nightmares," he began rapping as a young teenager and uploaded early tracks like "So Bad" and "Off White" to SoundCloud in 2016, later dropping out of high school to pursue music. His 2017 single "Pull Up" went RIAA gold and led to a deal with Interscope Records; it appeared on his 2018 debut mixtape, NorthsBest, whose single "Noticed" became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry. His second album, Certified Hitmaker (2019), reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 with guest spots from Chris Brown, Gunna and Trippie Redd. His 2020 single "Blueberry Faygo" became his biggest hit, peaking at number 8 on the Hot 100. He has also featured on tracks with Tate McRae, YG and Tyga, and founded his own label, Certified Hitmakers, in 2020. A notable quirk: despite being from the Pacific Northwest, his sound is rooted almost entirely in Atlanta trap.
