History
Ho99o9, pronounced horror, is a duo that smashes hardcore punk, rap and industrial noise together at full volume. theOGM and Eaddy came out of Newark, New Jersey, and built their reputation in Los Angeles on chaotic live shows where mosh-pit energy matters as much as the songs. Their music swings between shouted punk bursts, distorted trap beats, grinding electronics and horror imagery, often within a single track. United States of Horror, their 2017 debut album, set out that mix of aggression and dark humour. Skin in 2022 sharpened it, with Travis Barker involved in the production and drumming, which gave the punk side a harder, tighter drive. Tomorrow We Escape followed in 2025. The group belongs to a wave of acts that treat rap and hardcore as one scene rather than two, and they draw on the black punk tradition as much as on horrorcore. A listener recognises Ho99o9 by the screamed hooks, the blown-out bass, sudden tempo switches from blast to crawl, and the sense that everything is slightly out of control on purpose.
