History
Hanumankind raps in a heavy, unhurried Southern cadence over trap production, and the friction between that delivery and his Indian base is the whole point of the project. He is from Kerala and spent part of his upbringing in Houston, which explains why the bass weight and the drawl sit closer to Texas than to anything in Indian hip hop, while the references and the crowd stay Malayali. Big Dawgs broke him worldwide in 2024: a spare, menacing beat from producer Kalmi, a hook built out of repetition rather than melody, and a video filmed inside a wall of death motordrome with bikes circling around him. That clip did as much as the record, and the song travelled far past India onto global charts. Run It Up went bigger and louder, leaning on regional imagery and percussion instead of smoothing them out for export. What a listener recognises is the voice: low, dry, sitting slightly behind the beat, never rushing to prove anything.
