History
Stacy Ann "Fergie" Ferguson (born March 27, 1975, in Hacienda Heights, California) rose to fame as the lead female vocalist of the Black Eyed Peas, joining the group around 2002-2003 after years fronting the teen-pop trio Wild Orchid. Her arrival pushed the Peas into the mainstream: "Where Is the Love?" became their breakthrough hit, followed by chart-toppers like "Shut Up" and "Boom Boom Pow" from 2009's The E.N.D. Fergie's genre-hopping style blends pop, hip-hop, and R&B. Her 2006 solo debut, The Dutchess, produced three US number-one singles - "London Bridge," "Glamorous," and "Big Girls Don't Cry" - a rare feat for a debut album. She released a second solo record, Double Dutchess, in 2017 and left the Black Eyed Peas that same year. One widely reported piece of trivia: her rendition of the US national anthem at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game drew heavy criticism and became a viral talking point for its unusually sultry, jazzy arrangement.
