History

Fabrika is a Russian pop girl group formed in December 2002 by producer Igor Matvienko out of the reality show "Fabrika Zvyozd 1" (Star Factory), where the lineup placed second. The original members were Irina Toneva, Sati Kazanova, Alexandra Savelyeva, and Maria Alalykina; after Alalykina left in 2003, the remaining trio became known as the group's "golden lineup." Their sound sits in glossy, radio-friendly Russian pop with dance and light R&B textures typical of early-2000s TV talent-show acts. Their breakout single "Pro Lyubov" ("About Love") spent 26 weeks on Russian charts and, alongside hits like "Devushki Fabrichnye," "Ne Vinovata Ya," "Lelik," and "More Zovyot," made them one of the most visible acts to emerge from the Star Factory franchise. The band released its second album, "My Takie Raznye," in 2008 and toured heavily, playing over 200 shows on one tour alone. Kazanova departed for a solo career around 2010, Savelyeva left in 2019 and was replaced by Maria Goncharuk, while Toneva remains the only member present since the group's founding.
