History
Elena Temnikova (born April 18, 1985, in Kurgan, Russia) is a Russian singer and songwriter. She placed third on the TV talent show Star Factory in 2003, where producer Maxim Fadeev signed her. In 2006 Fadeev built the girl group Serebro around her alongside Olga Seryabkina and Marina Lizorkina; as lead singer she helped the trio take third place for Russia at Eurovision 2007 in Helsinki. Temnikova left Serebro in May 2014, citing pregnancy and health reasons, and moved into a solo career the same year with the single "Zavisimost" ("Dependence"), followed by a run of releases under her own TEMNIKOVA imprint (TEMNIKOVA I through TEMNIKOVA 5), mixing dance-pop and deep house. Her solo work has leaned more electronic than Serebro's girl-pop sound. One verified curiosity: in August 2016 she set a Guinness World Record for the highest-altitude concert, performing at the Rosa Khutor resort at 2,320 meters above sea level.
