History
Dua Lipa (born 22 August 1995 in London) is a British pop singer-songwriter, the eldest daughter of Kosovar Albanian parents who fled Pristina for London in 1992. She began posting cover songs on YouTube at 14, signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2015, and released her self-titled debut album in 2017, driven by the UK number-one single "New Rules" alongside "Be the One" and "IDGAF." In 2019 she won the Grammy for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for "Electricity" with Mark Ronson and Diplo. Her sound shifted toward disco- and club-inspired pop on 2020's Future Nostalgia, a UK chart-topper whose singles "Don't Start Now" and "Levitating" both reached number two on the US Hot 100; on release day the album became the most-streamed album in a day by a British female artist in Spotify history. Third album Radical Optimism (2024), produced partly with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, yielded the hit "Houdini." She has also acted in Barbie (2023) and Argylle (2024) and holds three Grammy Awards and multiple Brit Awards.
