History

Dima Bilan (born Viktor Belan, 1981, Ust-Dzheguta, Russia) is a Russian pop singer who became Russia's best-known Eurovision export after winning the contest in 2008 in Belgrade with "Believe," following a second-place finish in 2006 with "Never Let You Go" — Russia's only Eurovision victory to date. His sound blends Russian pop balladry with Western dance-pop production; his 2007-08 English-language material was made with Timbaland's team (Jim Beanz, Danja, Ryan Tedder), including a Nelly Furtado duet. In the 2010s he leaned back into Russian-language pop, releasing the album "Mechtatel" (2011) with hits like "Bolen toboy" and "Malysh," and a 2010 duet with Anastacia ("Safety"). He became a national TV fixture as a coach on "The Voice" (2012-2014, 2016, 2024-25) and "The Voice Kids" (2014-2017), winning Best Coach in the 2024-25 season. He has collected numerous MTV Europe Music Awards and Muz-TV awards across his career.
