Deathprod
Norwegian isolationist dark ambient drone from the 2000s: processed violin drones, subharmonic bass swells, wax cylinder crackle, menacing and hypnotic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Deathprod is the solo project of the Norwegian musician and producer Helge Sten, and its music is ambient at its heaviest and most physical. Rather than soft pads, Sten works with what he calls the Audio Virus: homemade electronics, old tape echo machines, ring modulators, filters, theremins and samplers, used to stretch and degrade sound until it becomes a slow, grinding mass of drone and hiss. Pieces often start from a string instrument or a found recording and dissolve it into rumbling low end and distant, ghostly overtones. Imaginary Songs From Tristan da Cunha evoked a remote South Atlantic island through murky, near-motionless sound, and Morals and Dogma, released on the Oslo label Rune Grammofon, is widely regarded as a landmark of dark, isolationist ambient. Sten is also a member of the improvising group Supersilent and a busy producer on the Norwegian experimental scene. A listener recognises Deathprod by the sense of enormous, damp space, sounds that seem to rot and breathe, and the complete absence of anything resembling a beat.
