History
Dabro are a Belarusian pop duo of two brothers whose songs are built on the plainest possible materials: a looped acoustic guitar figure, a soft programmed beat, and two voices trading lines in a conversational register rather than a performed one. Yunost became the breakout in 2020, spreading through short-video clips before radio caught up, and it set the template for what followed: a hook stated early, repeated often, and pitched at the exact tempo people dance to on a phone camera. Their subjects stay close to home, first love, missed calls, late-night waiting, delivered in everyday Russian with almost no metaphor, which is what separates them from the more produced end of Russian-language pop. The arrangements avoid big drops and long instrumental sections, so the vocal stays in front for the whole track. A listener recognises them by that combination: warm guitar, unhurried delivery, and choruses simple enough to be sung back after one hearing.
