History
Clark (born Christopher Stephen Clark, 1979, St Albans, England) is a British electronic musician and composer who has released on Warp Records since 2001, first under the name Chris Clark before shortening it to Clark in 2006. His sound moves across electronic, IDM, ambient and, more recently, contemporary classical territory. Early albums Clarence Park (2001) and Empty the Bones of You (2003) established him on Warp; Body Riddle (2006) drew strong reviews, and Clark (2014) earned Pitchfork's Best New Music. In 2021 he crossed into orchestral composition with Playground in a Lake, recorded with ensembles in Budapest and Berlin for Deutsche Grammophon. His tenth album, Sus Dog (2023), was executive-produced by Radiohead's Thom Yorke, who also sang and played bass on it, and was later named Album of the Year by Bleep. Since 2015 Clark has scored film and TV, including the BAFTA-nominated series Kiri and Apple TV+'s Lisey's Story, directed by Pablo Larraín. He also releases music on his own label, Throttle Records.
