History
Angelus Apatrida play fast, precise thrash metal in the Bay Area and classic German tradition: galloping riffs, sharp palm-muted picking, twin-guitar harmonies and shouted, melodic choruses built for festival crowds. The band comes from Albacete in La Mancha and started out in the early 2000s, working its way up through the local Spanish metal circuit. Their first albums came out on Spanish independent labels, and from 2010's "Clockwork" onward they recorded for Century Media, which took them onto international stages and made them one of the most visible names of Spain's thrash revival. "The Call" tightened the songwriting, "Cabaret de la Guillotine" leaned into political anger and heavier grooves, and the self-titled album of 2021 presented a band confident enough to name a record after itself. Their calling card is clean, tightly locked guitars, speed held in check by strong hooks, and a traditional thrash sound played with modern punch.
